DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
Department of Political Science was established in 1891 as ‘Department of Economy’, but later on was named as Department of Political Science. Since its inception, the department is continuously evolving by adopting new courses from time to time, with the introduction of research and guidance facilities and establishment of specialized areas of research and teaching.
The Department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Our undergraduate course has been designed as per Higher Education Department’s directives to equip the students with the foundations of the subject while opening for them channels to pursue higher studies as well as competitive examination. In the same way our M.A. programme, besides offering advanced knowledge in core areas of Political Science, focuses on specific sub-disciplines of Political Science with special emphasis on the analytical and methodological aspects of the discipline.
